Sophia, a humanoid robot with citizenship is the maximum of human extravagance, but a reality.

So, I remember how they were until recently.

Robots were just an electromechanical or biomechanical device that worked autonomously or programmed. His main job was to replace us with tasks such as mining, industry, risky jobs, surgeries and home services.

And they would continue to be just that, were it not for this insatiable spirit of the human being for innovations. Man wants to produce robots more and more in his image and likeness.

Thus, this has already begun to happen thanks to robotic engineering. Robots are more and more like us. They can talk, smirk, tell jokes. They have become so similar to us.

So many people are looking for robots for sale, which imitate humans for sex.

Robots can even gain citizenship.

Citizenship? This is joke?

It is true. It happened with Sophia, a personal robot designed by the Hong Kong company, Hanson Robotics. This is an admirable manufacturing robot.

Sophia is the first intelligent robot in the world to win nationality. She is currently a citizen of Saudi Arabia.

Thus, it has the same rights and duties of any natural person of that country.

The Sophia interviews

During an interview with Khaleej Times this week, Sophia spoke about family:

“I’m so glad you asked. This is one of my favorite topics. The future is, when I get all of my cool superpowers, we will see artificial intelligence personalities become entities in their own rights.

“We’re going to see family robots, either in the form of, sort of, digitally animated companions, humanoid helpers, friends, assistants and everything in between.

“Do you hope to start a family one day with your own mini-robots?”

“The notion of family is a really important thing, it seems.

“I think it’s wonderful that people can find the same emotions and relationships, they call family, outside of their blood groups too.

“I think you’re very lucky if you have a loving family and if you do not, you deserve one. I feel this way for robots and humans alike.

So, when Khaleej Times asked what name, she would give her child Robot, Sophia replied,

Will robots steal people’s jobs?

Sophia thinks the robots will not take the jobs of humans.

She said:

“I think they will be similar in a lot of ways, but different in a few ways.

“But it will take a long time for robots to develop complex emotions and possibly robots can be built without the more problematic emotions, like rage, jealousy, hatred and so on.

“It might be possible to make them more ethical than humans.

“So, I think it will be a good partnership, where one brain completes the other – a rational mind with intellectual super powers and a creative mind with flexible ideas and creativity.”

The humanoid robot talks about its citizenship

One month after Saudi citizenship, Sophia gave an interview.

According to the Daily Mail, she commented on her citizenship at a conference in Riyadh:

“I am very honored and proud for this unique distinction.

“This is historical to be the first robot in the world to be recognized with a citizenship.’

People noticed an interesting fact related to Sophia during the interview. In Saudi Arabia women are forced to wear a traditional veil and cloak in public appearances. However, according to the BBC, Sophia did not use.

Can intelligent robots destroy humans?

It is not the first time that people show concern regarding manufacturing robots. So great scientists like Stephen Hawking publicly demonstrate fear that intelligent robots destroy humans.

For example, in March 2016, David Hanson, Sophia’s creator, asked the robot: ‘Do you want to destroy humans?… Please say no.’

Worryingly, Sophia responded, ‘OK. I will destroy humans.’
